HUMMUS: The G.O.A.T.


Hummus is a legendary dip cherished by food enthusiasts worldwide, has a history as rich as its flavour. Originating from… actually we don’t really know…but could be one of multiple regions like the Middle East… hummus has transcended cultural boundaries to become a staple in kitchens globally. Its versatility spans beyond borders, finding its place in various cuisines and occasions, captivating taste buds with its creamy texture and tantalising taste.

What makes hummus the undisputed G.O.A.T dip? Its simplicity intertwined with its unmatched flavour is the key. Consisting of just a few essential ingredients – chickpeas, olive oil, garlic, tahini, lemon, cumin, and sea salt – it's a testament to the adage that sometimes less is indeed more.

RECIPE

Ingredients:

1 Tin of Chickpeas and Chickpea Water

75ml of Olive Oil

3 Garlic Cloves

1 Lemon, Juiced

2tbsp Tahini

1-2tsp of Cumin

0.5tsp of Sea Salt, more to taste

Method:

1. Begin by draining the chickpeas, ensuring to reserve the chickpea water.

2. In a mixing bowl, combine tahini, lemon juice, olive oil, cumin, and sea salt.

3. Transfer the mixture to a food processor and start processing.

4. Gradually add the garlic cloves.

5. While the processor is running at low-medium speed, slowly pour in the chickpea water until achieving the desired consistency.

6. Adjust salt to taste, if necessary.

7. Serve the hummus and enjoy the irresistible flavours!
